I need something to count yardage on my shark fishing reels.I can only find cheap little counters.I bought one and it doesnt even work. Please help!
i don't think any of the currently available line counters would work for you. they are all going to be too small. :-\
Use a metered spectra like Depth Hunter or Daiwa Boat Braid
This works reliably. But ain't cheap. Clips onto the rod, line goes one time around the little 'spool'...

Edit: not sure how suitable it is for shark fishing, I use mine for lighter duty on the water, and when spooling my reels to check capacity. But it's a very good design, so I think there's a chance it'll work. But the rod can't be too thick, if you let me know the diameter of the rod you want to use, I can check mine to see if it would fit.
Tight lines!
