Title: Shimano Tiagra TI-80w
Post by: giul59 on March 04, 2013, 01:05:35 AM
Hello, I have question that I hope someone can answer. I'm having problem with a TI 80w the cooling shield unscrews from the spool, causing the reel to jam. This must have been a problem because the newer reels cooling shields are held on by screws and not threaded into the spool. Is there a fix for this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Bruno

You've got an opposite problem. Many of us have a hard time getting the shield off. I'd say make it tighter and that's all about you can do.

no no no dont use lock tight. i have had this problem before you need to give the wrench a few good whacks. it gets hard to hold the spool, wrench and hit it good but its what you got to do. this happens on the older tiagra's just be sure to gease the o ring and threads.
