Hi I have just taken a chance and purchased and avet xs 5.0.1. reel that the previous owner says is not working and may have something to do with the anti reverse. is this a simple job to put right and at what cost. have not received the reel yet.

here is a very old post. you could be looking at replacing all 6 bearings and the drag washer. avet should be able to help with parts.

It's a SX not XS. Depending on your experiance with working on reels it can be a easy reel to work on. I've had crud keep the anti reverse dog from engaging and all it took was a simple cleaning, a few times in the deck of a pitching boat.
