Title: Senator 4/0 or 6/0
Post by: jlezama on March 09, 2013, 11:35:03 AM
Hello everybody
I am getting ready for the season and rebuilding the "arsenal" to target greater depths (mostly do rockcod <180 ft) and/or tuna.I have been thinking on getting a couple of senators for those purposes (and of course beef them up :)), so my question is what do you think are the possible applications for a 4/0 and 6/0 senators? Correct me if I am wrong I feel them too big for fishing from the San Francisco area, but I thought they might come useful in a long range trip or chasing Humboldts from the Monterrey area
Thanks!
Juan

A narrowed 113H isn't that big and a good reel for bottom fish and up here in Oregon a standard 113H is a common trolling reel for albacore.  I have narrowed 114Hs that I will be using for halibut this year but we commonly fish deeper than 600'.

Hi Juan,

They are both good albacore reels in our neck of the woods.
