Title: Shimano Chronarch 100 BSV
Post by: GeorgeN on March 21, 2013, 03:21:35 AM
I have a really nice 100 BSV that I bought new.  It has not been used much because I do not use 5:1 speed reels much.  I would love to speed the reel up to a 7:1 but I'm not sure if there are any 7:1 gear sets that would fit this reel.  If anyone knows, I would appreciate a heads up on this and perhaps some model and part numbers that would be compatible.  I know they made a 6.2:1 model and I may have to settle for that upgrade if nothing else.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated............Thanks, George  :)

7:1 gears would be massive!

If you have 5.1 gears I believe you have a PV (Power Version).  The B (freshwater) and the BSV (saltwater) came in a 6.2:1.  They didn't make them in a 7.1.

Yeah my mistake guys............it is truly a BPV.  Yes I thought that the only gears I could get to increase the speed on this reel would be a set of 6.2:1 used in the SV version, unless someone knows of a set of 7:1's from another shimano model line that would be compatible.  If not, the 6.2:1 would work for me as well.
