I'm told a schematic was never available and parts are almost non existent. I was also told by good sources that it was made for foreign markets and discontinued a long time ago. I fix all my own stuff. The closest I can come to it is a Stella 4000FA. Anybody know anything out there.

If it is a "SW" then it is the 2008 model Stella. I believe the body should be identical to a Stella 5000SW which is why there is no schematic. It simply has a different spool. All other parts are the same.
Do your homework and double check, pretty sure the 4k/5k body are identical, then the 6k/8k/10k are the same or something like that. Just check the listed weights and the reels with the same approximate weight are the identical body.

There will be VERY important differences between the FA and the SW.
SW stands for Salt Water and the SW series has important sealing to protect the reels and parts with the tolerances to accept those seals. However, Shimano is very consistent with their part numbers and any that you find on schematics that have the identical part numbers are the same part.

it looks like everything on the 5000sw is the same as 4000sw except there is a different drag and the rotor is different. The body has a different part number but that is just for the labeling, since the sideplate is same part, main and pinion gears are the same

Yea, what happens is that the spool has less capacity by making the inner arbor larger. They then use larger drag washers etc.
