Title: Shimano Saragosa 3000, 4000, 5000, 8000 help
Post by: edgarz on April 27, 2013, 11:29:30 AM
Hello everybody, I see in their website that the 3000 and 4000 models have the same weight. So with the 5000 and 8000 models. Do they have the same body and are the spools interchangable? Thanks.

The 3000 and 4000 look the same although swapping spools is the only way. Do you own one? I'm not a fan of the smaller ones. The latest failure was the screws stripped out of the sideplate. Buy a Stradic instead.

I have a 3000 and was wondering if I could put a 4000 spool. I'm also considering on buying a 5000 and getting an 8000 spool.

What led to your screws stripping?

Big fish caused it. We were fishing in far Northern Australia. The 4000 was only loaded with 20lb braid. I found the 8000 Saragosa very soft in the rotor compared to the Stradic.
