Title: Anti reverse bearings
Post by: Jason Groombridge on May 12, 2013, 01:53:26 AM
G'day Guys,

I have a Penn 650ssm that the anti reverse is playing up on. It works intermittently. Does this mean the bearing is stuffed or is it just a matter of cleaning/lubing the bearing. I have given this reel the full grease treatment (grease packed bearings) but I can't remember what I did with the anti reverse bearing. I think I just oiled it lightly. What should I do with the anti reverse bearing, oil or grease?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Jason

Jason, You can try cleaning the bearing. It's ok to lightly oil the bearing but grease is a no no. If it still slips after cleaning you will have to replace it. Bob

Thanks Bob,

I will clean it and re-oil and see what happens.

Cheers
