Title: SENATOR SIDEPLATES
Post by: basto on May 17, 2013, 05:02:46 AM
I have read that the older Senator sideplates can swell with age.
Did Penn change the composition of the plates in later models or can they swell too?
thanks in advance
Basto

Basto, I don't have an answer to your question, but, a 2/0 Senator I bought on ebay had swollen plates.  Later the plates seemed to shrink and it was much easier to install the chrome rings.  I wonder if the hot, dry Nevada air dried out the sideplates and they returned to original dimensions?
