Title: Avet LX 6.0 Double Dog..??
Post by: handi2 on May 26, 2013, 09:02:25 PM
I know this has been asked before but it was on an older model. I have a newer model and by looking at the machining another dog could be easily used. I assume it would need another tension spring and arm. Should I call Avet and see what they say..??

I'm not sure if you already know, but the other AR pawl recess is machined into the side plate so it can be used to assemble left handed reels. This saves Avet $ from machining a new side plate to accommadate lefties.

Yes that's what I figured but maybe another dog will work...

G'day handi,
It's a nice idea and could likely be done if space allows, but would require some careful milling of the side plate so the second dog could actuate in the other direction...
Lots of other variables, such as how to get the dog to engage, but definitely possible.
Good luck!
