Title: Tiagra 50W Reel foot
Post by: erikpowell on June 04, 2013, 05:41:33 AM
Hi gang,
I don't know what these guys did to this reel, but the forward foot on the reel seat is severely bent, almost to a half twist!   ???
and the handle arm is bent to a crescent moon too!   ;D

only in Fiji.... ???
;D
Seeing as how the seat is lugged to the frame as a one piece assembly.... will there be any possibility of bending it back straight, or will it just snap off??  a cursory attempt with vicegrips was laughable at best...

wonder what a new one piece frame's gonna cost....  TT0298

Cheers,
Erik

Erik, sorry to say, you will need marlin strength to bend it back. And worse, the metal is now fatigued, so it would be safe to say to buy a new frame. Do you want me to check on a price for you?

I wonder if it was pure brute marlin strength that bent it in the first place  ;D
I've gotta find the story behind this one... it'll be a good one i'm sure..

So, yes, if you wouldn't mind, see what you come up with on a frame...  'preciate that bro...
