I am rebuilding a highly corroded Torium and I have a question about the drag. Is it ok if the metal drag plates have some of the reflective metal coating peeled off(Not too bad), or will it mess up the drag? I am installing the carbontex washers.
It is important that the drag plates be smooth. If the peeling has left them with ridges, buff them down with emery cloth until they are smooth. Then grease your drag washers and you'll be good to go.
