I have been trying to reassemble my Sustain but every time i put it back together there is a friction point when the oscillating slider gets to the bottom of it's stroke during contact with the main gear.
It seems the two screws (8257 part # ) make contact with the gear while the oscillating slider is at it's lowest point. The image should show what i'm talking about.
Thank you

I don't know much about that reel, but from looking at your pix, looks like you have a shim missing on the main gear :-\.
Look around and see if you dropped it.
put the screws in from the back side of the slider.
