Title: Luna 300 crack on handle/rightside plate at screw hole
Post by: GF714 on July 01, 2013, 02:04:28 AM
Hello everyone,
Is there any way to fix this or should I just purchase a new side plate from Daiwa?
I can't figure out how to upload a picture of the crack to show what it looks like, it looked like someone over tighten the screw and caused a hairline crack across the screw hole.
Thank you for any advice given.

fish with it until it becomes a problem.  i bet it will work just fine.  maybe also check with daiwa and see what kind of price they will give you.

Thanks Alan.  So far it has caused no problem and I will check with Daiwa on pricing.

Seems I saw the same situation shown on Muskies First and I believe someone posted an option for rebuilding and then drilling and tapping. I could be dreaming though. Apparently not an altogether rare occurrence, but not sure if Daiwa ever took any steps to beef that up.
