Post by: PJSKI on March 01, 2010, 08:25:25 PM
Hello, I was given 2 different reels for Christmas presents ,the first was a Cabelsa Salt Strikers SS-40 and the other was a Gander Mountain (unsure of name )model 30 or 35 .Any info would be much appreciated .They are both spinning reels.

Gander Mountain spinners are made by Shakespeare and Pflueger, it just depends on the model. The ones made by Pfleuger generally have the same handle type as seen on the Pfleueger reels.

probably taiwan or mainland china.  they would be ok for a while.  the bearings would have to be pulled and packed with grease. the drag washers would probably have to be replaced as well.  match them up with something on this list.  http://alantani.com/index.php?topic=21.0

Thanks for the replies .Sentimental value makes these special .They will last a long while for a non catching fisherman like me.I rinse with warm water  and spray CRC silicone on moving parts after each use.(I hope I'm doing right ?)
