ive been having a problem lately that the clutch lever to put the reel into freespool has been becoming very hard to move. Can someone guide me on how to solve this?

Take off the right side plate and disassemble the free spool lever mechanism, wash out the salt and corrosion, re-lube, and you should be good to go, except you should do the entire reel at that point, including cleaning and re-lubricating all of the bearings, Alan Tani-style.  Also fire in some greased Carbontex drags, like Alan preaches and practices.
