i have a penn 113h special senator i use for cod fishing on a trip monday i was reeling in a fish and the handle star and all went backwards and the spool let loose? it did this a few times.what should i look for when i break it down?

hopefully the dog is just gummed up.  worst case you have damage to the dog, the gear sleeve or both.  can you let us know?  thanks!  alan

just took it apart.the gear sleeve[98-320] is worn.should i be looking for anything else while its open?

If the gear sleeve is bad, you'll also need to replace the dog.

The fibre washer under the main gear will probably want replacing too

that means that the dog HAS to be damaged as well.   :-\

thanks guys.i picked up the parts today and fixed it,the gear,pin,dog,dog spring and washer all for $15,hopfully i can get out one more time,thanks again,rob
