Title: Old Penn International 50 - disengage clicker?
Post by: ccav on August 20, 2013, 03:57:37 PM
Hello,
I bought an old Penn International 50 on eBay, seems to work fine but I can't disengage the clicker, it's always on.

Was hoping this wasn't uncommon and someone might know a way to turn it off? I'd rather always off then always on, if that's the case.

Thanks for any info!
Chris

chances are it's just gummed up.  you can drizzle some oil into the click lever and work it back and forth until it pops up.  never really thought the international needed a clicker.  they make enough noise normally!

Thanks, I'll give it a try! And yes, it's not exactly a "stealth" reel : )

Hey there's no sound like crankin in a big biter on an international lets you know everythings in good shape.  The shimano tiagras do have a nicer clicker, the 50 sounds like a chainsaw! Try pouring warm water on it first, then oil or wd-40. That's how I do my senators
