NICE YT!!!
Whoa! And I thought my 30# yellow pulled hard...
A monster for sure! nice to see it go back to get bigger. The entire trip they had looked fairly epic to me.
thanks for sharing!
Do you know what rod and reel was used?
New Zealand is now on my bucket list
Those Kings run a bit thicker than our California Yellowtail- what is the record?
As far as I'm aware, the record stands at 115lb (52kg) and was caught in the Bay of Plenty.
The largest speared was earlier this year in Northland. It weighed 110lb (49.8kg).

A bit old Basto....but the reel was an Okuma Cimeron 80 on a combo rod, combo approx $200....fishing is a great leveller
Hi Justin,
I think I've seen a clip of that on Youtube, I need to book a spot on that boat.
