Title: Aftco drag handles
Post by: heckrazr on September 15, 2013, 05:41:28 PM
Aloha,
Can anyone clue me in on the AFTCO handles and drag setups? Particularly the H-PS-1 and the H-PL-2? I have a few of these handles and drag setups but couldn't find any info on them. Any and all info will be greatly appreciated.
Dave

Hi Dave,  This is the first that I have seen the postring even though I've been checking periodically.  I know how they work, but I do not have any information of these handles.  The star has a slot that once you set the drag, the star will only travel as far as the pin mounted on the handle to allow it.

I bought one of those for one of my reels. I think it was my (then) new Penn 990. After installation, I saw that the replacement star exposed an opening into the side plate.

I took it off and returned it.

Bryan, thanks for that. Wasn't sure how that peg in the handle worked..

Allen, Their site (AFTCO) doesn't have any info on the handles though.

Thanks all,

Dave
