Title: Daiwa Sealine X 50HV question
Post by: cagey808 on October 04, 2013, 03:03:32 AM
I have a older Sealine X 50HV with a cracked frame (the only thing wrong with the reel).  Will the frame from a 50SHA or 50HA fit on the 50HV?  Thanks.

I know they will for the 20s and 30s. Not sure about the 50s, I'd call Diawa.

didn't someone make an aluminum aftermarket frame for some of these reels?

Ron: just got a run around at Daiwa

Alan: if they did and they are still available, that would be great!

Thanks for the input guys!

Alan
SoCalFishing made frames for the 20s and 30s. They only have the SLs left (won't fit the x) and it looks like they are selling off the last of them. Apparently they prototyped a 50 but they never listed it on their web page. I absolutly love these reels and would like to get an aluminum frame for my 20x and find somebody to make stainless gears with hex drags. That would be a much better yellowtail reel than a Yellow Tail Special (sorry Mr. Newell) not that I don't love the original either.
