Title: Penn has a competitor
Post by: Bunnlevel Sharker on October 20, 2013, 02:06:33 AM
In the 9 and 209 size. The shakespere tidewater is a serious competitor, a lot of SS parts. Main disadvantages are plastic spool(still a tough spool though) and a little more complicated, still relatively simple though. If there is CF drags that will fit that would be a big help to. They are great reels for the money though

Tidewaters are alright, but some parts are no longer available, like the spool engage / disengage lever.
