Title: REEL HANDLE/ARM COMPATABILITY?
Post by: LTM on October 23, 2013, 05:56:20 AM
Hey,

Im interested in swapping some handles around between Daiwa 3/0 size reels with those on some Shimano reels. Ive mic'd the handle shafts and switched the handle nuts around just to test diameters and threads to find out both mfg's handles shafts the same size. When mic-ing the holes in the arms/handles Ive noticed slightly larger on Shimano by a small margin over the Daiwa holes. Also noticed very slight wiggle with Shimano arms on Daiwa.  Emailed a vendor on Ebay about compatability betwee the two and he stated they are not compatabile. Would appreciate any info/insite/experience.

they are likely not.  i was looking at making a line of daiwa handle arms, but the project stalled with everything else that got in the way.....   :-\
