Heres a tool that Ive been hooked on for quite awhile now and its free. The link is for Windows however there's one for Mac as well. Take a look, I think you'll find it most helpful:

In Windows 7 you have it built-in in the calculator.

Open the calculator, press on the "view" and in the list "Unit Conversion". Or, in the calculator, press Ctrl+U.
