Title: Revo STX Stubborn Spools
Post by: Brewer on November 20, 2013, 05:23:21 PM
I am going through a box of Revo reels. I have come to a issue with the spools not releasing and coming out from the frame. This is occurring in 3 of the 4 STXs. The spools will move about 1/8" then no more. What is causing this?  Any thoughts?

it's possible that the spool shaft is stuck inside the pinion gear.  not a good situation.  add oil, let it soak in and keep your fingers crossed!

I tried the oil and let sit option over night and that did not work. Gotta try right?  Well I finally resorted to using a hammer and small screw driver to force the pin through the center of the bearing.  Pretty extreme maneuver to get the spool to release from the pin/frame.
