Title: Hex key to remove a set screw on a Stradic 6000FG
Post by: drichitt on December 05, 2013, 07:29:23 PM
I have a Stadic 6000FG that I want to completely service. There is a set screw (Index #6208) that holds the oscilating slider (#6556) onto the main shaft. A retaining screw is used as well but that is not my concern. My problem is the set screw. It appears to be a hex type set screw but the hex key required is very tiny. Can anyone tell me what size hex key is needed....Thanks

Hey pal, that will be .9mm. Handy to have that size as Shimano used it a lot on retaining screws...line roller assy etc

Thanks. I have plenty of hex keys that are slightly larger, but a .9mm has got to be about as small as they come, I would assume.

When I purchased the pack it also came with a .7mm...it's tiny, have no idea what I'll use it on

if you don't mail-order, check computer stores -- small components (e.g., lap-top hard-drives) are held together w/ some mighty small metric hex screws
