Title: Drag washers for Daiwa BG 30
Post by: keyshunter on December 11, 2013, 09:33:32 PM
I want to replace the stock drag washers in a Daiwa BG 30. I believe that the correct number of Penn HT-100's is 6-155. Is that correct? Do I need just 3 washers or do I need to double some of them?

KH,

Not familiar with your reel. Initially you'll need to measure your drag stack (the combined total of metal and fiber washers) to determine your baseline height/thickness you WANT to achieve with your new carbon fiber washers and metal washers. Its OK if your short a little for the drag adjustment mechanism can make-up for some difference in drag stack height. Others here have at times doubled-up on drags to get to the baseline hight/thickness (see Daiwa 600h drag tutorials). The goal is not only the OD/ID of drag washers but also as close to the original thickness as possible. Hope this helps some.

Have you checked with Dawn at Smoooth Drag?  I got carbontex washers for a BG90 from her, even though they aren't listed.
