Aloha All,
My name is Dave and I'm in Simi Valley currently. Moved here from Maui a few years ago and before that been brought up in Redondo Beach CA. We (my girlfriend and I) have a 20' Glastron lake boat that I've converted into a saltwater vessel (bait tank, trolling rigs, fishfinder, plotter, etc..)
My avatar pic is me on Maui after getting my first Mahi.....that fish kicked my butt!!! I fished with a few local people I made friends with, who have a 25' Force with dual Honda outboards and full outriggers and trolling setups. I renewed my enthusiasm and love for fishing on this boat. Ono, Ahi, Mahi, Marlin, Shark, Onaga, Eku, etc... were some of the catches.
I've been fishing most of my life...(starting on Redondo Pier as a kid), venturing onto the 1/2 and 3/4 day boats out of RB. Surfishing, Jetty fishing and Boat fishing are my favorites but am now really intrigued with kayak fishing. Kau Grown's video's have gotten my blood boiling to try this adventure.
Will be moving back to Maui eventually and all my gear, boat and hopefully a fully rigged kayak will be accommodating me.
I am always looking for more equipment....especially Penn Squidders and basically anything "interesting".
I just started fixing rods and am looking forward to making my first complete rod by hand with the help of my wrapper/dryer I built using an old Crasftsman tablesaw arbor and sewing machine motor with foot control and BBQ rottisserie motor for drying. So far so good.
Anyhow.....that's a little about me.
Aloha

Welcome from a former SFV resident now in the Sacramento Delta....if you're ever in the SFV gotta go to DeFranco's Subs on Woodley across from the Van Nuys Airport...
Erik,
My friends are all Maui natives...born and raised. The boat is named the "Artie and Katie" owned by an older guy named Allen. Lance Maeda is capt of the boat. I lucked out by being the only Haole ever invited on the vessel, proved myself as more than competent and became a regular onboard. Entered some tourneys with the crew and got 2nd place in Ono category. All's I can say is I can't wait to be back on Maui catching Ahi, Mahi, Ono and everything else we targeted.....
Aloha
Aloha Dave...
