Hey fellas what kinda grease are you using on the worm shaft after servicing?
I have a few Stradics that I have used last season in freshwater only that I will be tearing into.
Been thinking of using Cal's grease since I got a tub of it.
Just wondering if there is anything a bit thinner so the reel doesn't feel so sticky on retrieve.

-Cal's should work, it's a bit heavy though
-Yamaha marine grease (blue colored) is a little less viscous and provides good corrosion protection (plus it's relatively inexpensive)
-Penn real grease (blue colored) is also pretty good stuff and is slightly thinner
-Shimano grease provides good lubrication but doesn't always stay where it's put
-Enox (purple colored) is excellent in terms if corrosion protection and longevity, but is almost as viscous as Cal's
-Dupont Krytox Teflon grease is mentioned by Alan Hawk as one of his favorites for high end spinning reels, but it is expensive

what's good for the gears, is good for the worm. I'm using the blue Penn stuff or Shimano (either/or -- I try not to mix), just cause I got 'em cheap -- no special preference... will probably get Cal's, when I run out -- I don't mind a little sluggishness, if it stays where it's put better
