Title: 12vsx clicking noise in freespool
Post by: shanara on January 06, 2014, 08:10:06 PM
After greasing my drag plates with cals my drag is nice and smooth

However I have noticed a clicking noise when I spin the reel in freespool- it spins fine- I tilt the reel on either end and it goes away.

I see that someone else had the same problem-but I couldent find out if it had been resolved- is alans reel like this- can anything be done?

I am not sure if it did this before I took it apart.

Help

A guyfrom Penn over on BD told me he thought it may be the metal drag plate rattling arround- I followed his advice and put a little grease on both sides of the three location tabs and the reel is totaly silent with a very smooth drag
(I must have created the problem by over cleaning the area of grease)

Regards Gary

Good to see you have overcome the problems associated with this new reel Gary, well done.
Kudos to Penn (UK) for honouring the warranty on a reel purchased in the US.
