Title: Shakespeare Reel
Post by: RB1 on January 07, 2014, 04:13:36 PM
Have a Shakespeare TW30LB reel that needs new handle and nut to secure it.  Tried to find part on line but not having any luck.  Emailed Shakespeare web site and no reply. Can any here help lead me in finding the right parts?

welcome!!!!  many of these reels use the same hardware found in the old okuma reels.  they were all made in china and all used metric threads with an asian pitch (instead of a european metric pitch).  if you can find someone with an okuma reel, you might be able to match it up.  otherwise, it would take a visit to ontario, ca.  not sure about any other okuma service centers.

I've had good luck on obsolete Shakspeare and Pfluger parts from Glen's reel service, 515-262-2990, Des Moines IA.

Thanks guys.  Will do the follow up and hope for the best. No wonder I could not match the thread up at local hardware store!
