Well, here goes my first question for you, I hope you don't think too stupid. I wanted to know if it's possible to change the outside plate ( not the handle side) with these two reels. Ambassadeur 5601 CB , Ambassaduer 6601 CB. The reason I'd like to do this , is for the trolling clicker. I do a lot of trolling and would be really helpful having a another reel. Is this possible without a major thing? Thanks!
Yes. Except for any colour difference in the anodizing, they cross fine. If your 66 uses the flapper type clicker, as opposed to the tongue clicker, remember to install the sideplate with the clicker in the off position. See the little bend on the flapper to let the side plate screw in. If you don't install in off settting, you will distort the flapper, and your reel will remain quiet.
