Title: TLD 25 thrust washers.
Post by: Stuck on February 28, 2014, 09:26:06 PM
I just bought a 2nd hand Jap made TLD25. My question is, did any TLD's come out without the gear shaft thrust washer (#TLD0079) ?. I noticed that mine didn't have one so I got one from Shimano but with it fitted the handle locks up. If I remove the washer the amount of end float in the shaft is minimal (about the same as my Malaysian 25) but seems to be more than the thickness of the washer. This has me stumped so can I do any damage by leaving the washer out ? as the reel doesn't seem to have seen a lot of use.

Thanks,
Anthony.

alot of these washers are in just for spacing purposes.  they're not essential.
