so follow me on this. the click tongue is worn but looks ok. it's just the spring that is loose. what you have to do is grab with spring with a pair of flat nosed pliers or channel locks and bend in one side of the spring. the whole assembly will be cockeyed. then you have to bend the other side of the spring to even it out. now the spring has more pressure against the tongue. you can't have too much or too little. and ends of the spring have to be even and not too high or too low. if you got "the touch," the entire proceedure takes 10 seconds.
to get this right, the spring ends of the spring have to be in the proper place relative to the click tongue AND they have to have the proper amount of pressure. so the only question is, "do you feel lucky?" alan

Again thank you Alan. I have a friend's vintage 114H that has a sprung click spring. Had no idea how I was going to replace the spring. One of the riveted posts was loose as well but knew how to use a punch to re-peen the loose rivet. Like new...sort of. But at least no parts needed.
