It's the right stuff alright. I've also been using it for years for building up my rods fore grip for rail fishing. As a side note, I had some end pieces left over and applied them to 1 1/8" PVC tubing to make knot pullers. It works REALLY well! All you have to do is give your line a 1.5 wind on the handles and it grips super well. I've used it on spectra, mono, and titanium wire with no ill effects to the cold shrink.

So this stuff can be cut shorter without having to use it all at once?
