Title: A new project on 113H
Post by: Black Pearl on July 18, 2018, 11:36:34 PM
As you all know that I am working on 113H one piece frame project, and my resource is in the middle of that progress. I have asked my resource to R&D a new requirement that I would like to be included in this project. I can't talk too much about this new requirement (someone always take other people's idea. To those people, you are not getting this one yet), but it will be a game changer.

Magnetic or centrifical cast control? 2 speed gears? Disengaging levelwind system? 6/0 guts for a magnum version?

One thing for sure that IS NOT going to happen this 113H will have extra narrow custom spool and one piece frame.

Im hoping for the innards of a 6/0.

Then I can stop buying the tooling I need to make a 4/0 with 6/0 lock work ... Jeff

The sideplate and one piece frame sample are almost done. This item will use the narrow spool just like the Newell made it for the 113H. The other feature that this item will be equipped with 2 speeds. The high ratio will still be 4:1, and the low will be determined.

My resource will start to look into 2 speeds functionality and design. This is going to be cool.

Ok for a 2 speed I'll have to break my moratorium on buying new reels this year.
I just bought a new auto pilot and a couple custom rods and a Tranx.  So I'm on a personal time out.

This sounds so great!

Any possibility of a wide version???
A 2 speed would be great for a reel with a lot of line capacity too!
I'd be in for a wide one for sure!

will this be a set of side plates that convert any 113h 4/0 to two speed or will we need a special frame?

Alan I really like your work and mods you have came up with. But, doesn't Penn already offer 2 versions of a narrow two speed 4/0? Granted the Penn's are lever drags and it sounds like yours will be a star drag. I'm just wondering what type of demand there will be before you spend all the time a resources on building many of these?

Demand might not be there, but there must be at least 100 people like to have it.
