Have been asked to have a look at one of these reels .
The owner is looking for a smoother start up and to decrease a bit of cranking  resistance when at higher drag settings.( seems to be a common lever drag trait from reading here ). Have you had one of these reels apart ? and can you offer any tips either in the different cams or in the beveled washer set up.

Also hows the extreme reel lube holding up for you?

Thanks Neil

i'm not going to be of much help here.  never had one apart.  no one i fish with has that kind of money!

the handle load under heavy drag can sometimes be worsened if the right main side plate bearing is bad.  i think you may have simply hit the limit of bearing and that the bearing is fine.  by start up, you mean the stickiness of the drag washer, right?  it should be greased carbon fiber.  it doesn't get much better than that.  alan
