Title: Fin-Nor Fly Parts
Post by: RamseyReelRepair on March 10, 2019, 02:58:57 AM
Hey guys I just got a Fin-Nor No. 4 fly real and was wondering if anyone could tell me where to get parts and schematics for fly reels. I need a new cork drag washer for this one but i dont even know the part number. I also just received an orvis some others (pictures attached). Anything would be very helpful. Also what do yall charge to work on them and whats your reason for the price (Just Curious)

Thanks

West

Re the Fin nor. Have you seen this thread?

Not sure how you would go getting parts for these as they have been out of production for quite some time.

As for the Orvis and SA reels, might be an idea to possibly email the distributors for these in your area, if you need parts you might strike it lucky in that parts could still be available.

If you measure the thickness of the cork drag you can buy sheets of pressed cork material on the internet in all different thickness. Then just cut out and glue on. There is a tutorial under the Fin-Nor section of this site if you look around.  John Taylor

I replaced the cork on my Fin Nor off-shore reel using cork gasket material that I purchased at a NAPA Auto Parts store.  Thickness was the same as original.
