Title: Question about spool spacing tubes,
Post by: gstours on March 14, 2019, 03:34:51 AM
I've got a question concerning the side loading of spool bearings,  particularly when the side pressures are from one side only.  In my application is a mooching reel, with no gear sleeve, and a drag washer below the spool machined flat back surface.
When considerable pressure is applied to the drag,  reeling in line with no drag is less easy and smooth.
With my experience there is some compression somewhere and wondering if a spool spacer might deminish the assuming bearing side loading extra friction....
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.   I know there's a lot of variables.   Let's go to work.🎣
