Yes, looks as it was never opened, but should come out really good.
Show the after pics.

They're very simple reels, a little different than the Finessa and N series.  Getting the pin out of the handle is usually the biggest obstacle.

Looks like it will clean up very well!  Bill

She cleaned up very nice. Little elbow grease goes a long way. Ended up sanding and painting spool for a smooth surface. Sal thanks for you 270 post it helped astronomically.

You did good to James! It is now ready for many more years of service.

Funny how they rate these reels., usually the smaller guys are rated for freshwater, some for light saltwater and some for saltwater, and yet when you open them up they're all the same, with the exception of the gears being a little smaller on the little guys.

They're all nice, the only thing I don't like, but still usable is the handle knob.
I think it's a little small , especially on the larger reels.
I usually replace them on most.

Nice job!

Thanks for comments. Looks like may need a bearing, even after good cleaning and greasing the reel is little noisy. Its smooth just noisy.

James, if you could please measure that bearing and I'll send one out to you.
No worries if you can't, i could always take one of my 270 apart to check.
My parts bins got mixed up during shipping, so now I need to check the parts one by one.

Well done James. You have a great vintage reel there.

I have three 270, two are functioning and another I used for a  parts reel.  Both of mine are noisy, one worse than the other one.  I thought it could be bearings, then again, someone posted a year or longer ago they're just noisy reels.

Not sure if this is accurate or not, but it isn't the case with mine.
I have a dozen or so 270 and about the same of the 275, all are silky smooth after I serviced them.
All needed a good cleaning and that was it.

Sal
Sal, neither of mine have the shim under the worm wheel.  Could that be the source of noise?

They are smooth and not really loud enough to be annoying.  With the a/r clicker engaged, the sound isn't very noticable.  I wouldn't hesitate to fish with them.

How hard is it to find the 275

I'm not sure Chester.
We would need to define noise, might not be the same for everyone.
Yes I do hear the large spool rotate on these, but personally I wouldn't call that noise.
These reels have a really tight tolerance, you could tell by trying to move the rotor by hand side to side, you will notice there is no movement at all.
Can't say the same for others.
The sound you hear I would think it's expected on these., at least that's what I think.

Not an easy reel to find, but they do pop up every once in a while.

After a trip to Sal's the reel is as smooth as butter and ready for battle.
