Title: Newell Crossbars With Slanted Lettering
Post by: russ1962 on June 10, 2019, 04:26:00 PM
Hello all,
I acquired a nearly brand new S-229 and it has the Logo with 'slanted' lettering.
Does anybody know what year the 'slanted' lettering was first used?
I also noticed that it has a 10-toothed gear sleeve. What year did they switch to 10-tooth gear sleeves?
Thanks.

I'd like to see pics. Never heard of slanted Newell badges.

Think the 10 tooth started with the G's when they stopped using stainless and 4 stacks. The slanted letter I think started with the NL and thru screws. I've seen NL's with the letters both ways I think. Don't know what year

Carl found out right away the paint or chrome rubbed off the positive letters on these support posts so discontinued them.
