I was given this reel about 15-16 years ago, never thought about it much, did it's job but now the drag is sticky, figure time to open it up and do something about the washers.
Only thing is I can't find a model number anywhere on the reel.
Left side "CATALINA FEEL THE POWER"
Right side, " 4 Ball Bearings"
The reel seat is stamped 2926, nothing else.
The spool is about 2" diameter and 1.5" wide, seems heavy and well built.
Would like a schematic before taking it apart, any ideas?
It's either a 30C or 30CS (high speed). 4.0:1 is the 30C.
The 25 series has a spool that is 1 5/16 so rules out the 25.
The factory washers were NOT CF.
IMHO the weak point of these reels is the ANTI-REVERSE PAWL PIN. One side sits in a hole on the right GRAPHITE side plate. Too much pressure and it would seem this will be a failure point.

Just got done putting CF drag washers in it, I didn't expect such large washers on a small reel. The drag clicker was a bit tricky but all back together now. Not sure which handle hole to use, will start long for leverage and see how that works out.
Are there any writing in the frame bars? That's the only way I could tell mine apart.
No Bryan, nothing on frame bars, I just counted spool/handle rotation.
I was looking for the capacity of this reel, found some charts, I assume back then they were for mono?
I would guess. Alan filled mine with a LOT of 60# hollow braid.

Yes, ratings were for mono. The model # and ratings silk screening on the frame was not very durable; have almost completely rubbed off of my CT-15L, 25L, and 30L
