Post by: mak1 on July 21, 2019, 09:00:02 PM
Hi
Makaira 50SEa     (not the wide model)
I'm wanting 600m of 100lb Jerry brown hollow. I want to splice in some 100lb momoi diamond, how much could I comfortably get on

The braid should, in theory, fill the reel a little less than two thirds.

Okuma rates the reel to take 360 metres of 0.90mm; Momoi Diamond is meant to be 1.0mm, so I would still expect you to get close to 100m of topshot on it.

off the top, i would guess 50 yards of 100 mono.  my mak 50 held almost 700 yards of 130 pound braid and a 25 yard fluoro topshot of 130.  it's alot of line!
