Title: Okuma Tabo?
Post by: Christopher M Songer on October 08, 2019, 10:56:03 AM
Found a Okuma Tabo but do not know anything about these reels. Anything I should be aware of? What is it best suited for? T What kinda of price do they command? Thanks everyone.

really old, doubt that you could get much drag range out of it.  probably has a canvas drag.  doubtful that a carbon fiber upgrade would be readily available.  i'd pass.   :-\

Replacement drag washer would probably have to be home made - cf not much of an issue.
Bearings will be standard metric - no issue.
Other parts - ??????
Do you want to take a gamble??

It comes from the era when Okuma reels just weren't very good. in fact, they were bad. Very. Leave it alone unless its has sentimental value.
