Post by: Christopher M Songer on November 23, 2019, 02:46:16 PM
Did all Convector's come with carbon fiber drag washers or do lesser models and older models get nylon?
thanks

The latest Convectors (at least european models) have 'Carbonite' drag washers (ie cf) - IIRC earlier models had 'Rulidium' drags.

stay away from the really old blue ones
models start w/ different letters (CN vs. CV ???)

I have one older blue CN model but do not remember much if any difference. Why do you not like the CN model as much?

it was the nicest lefty I could find in that price range, but I sold it after one use

drag star was horrible -- loose & opposite of fine-threaded

I don't remember correct "thread terminology"

???  frequency -- too low; pitch/inclination -- too high  ???

tiniest nudge would be a ridiculously drastic change of setting

& tiniest bump would easily move the star
