Title: Abu Garcia A20lc
Post by: Christopher M Songer on December 04, 2019, 01:57:51 PM
What do you think about the Abu Garcia A20lc reels. I am looking at 3 I might be able to get, currently working on his other reels. I took one apart and it seems well built (for fresh water) and is smooth to operate. Who runs them and what are your thoughts. I run Cold Water on Erie and Catalina and Convectors on Ontario for wire line dipsey use. Penn 320Gti for my down riggers. Thank you.

Hi, are these from the initial production? I bought one after they first came out and used it for striper trolling in the Sacramento delta. It worked well for up to 10# stripers. The only problem I had was that the line guide parts wore out but when I wrote to the company, I was told parts were not available. I jury-rigged a fix and still use the reel. Good luck.

This reel has a striking resemblance to a Lineaeffe JD300 multiplier that I owned several years ago. The good news is that you can use these generic cheap reels for parts for this one - the 300 sized ones.
