Title: Eagle Claw-Wright-McGill Co model 225A

I found Japan on the foot but can't find any other info. It was in a yard sale tackle box along with my DAM Quick 110.

From the mid '70s after Wright & McGill stopped having their reels made by Ofmer of Italy & Shakespeare. They did what a lot of other companies did, not unlike Ted Williams, etc., to be competitive they lowered quality and started having their reels made in Japan.

I had one of those Eagle Claws that looked identical to that one, it was the ultralight model.  Gave it to a friend 5-6 years ago and he still uses it. At the time I knew nothing about reel repair, as far as I know it's never been serviced.

Looks like the Compac reels Ive seen. Likely made by the same manufacturer. Whoever that was.
