Title: Was there ever a right hand wind cardinal?
Post by: Ruffy on January 13, 2020, 12:53:52 PM
Just saw a few cardinals on eBay but am not interested as they are all left hand wind. Were there ever any right hand wind cardinals made?

Cheers,
Andrew

Aren't the handles reversible?

Not the original Zebco(made by Abu) Cardinals. At least not that I know of... Never seen one of those made for south paws. Cardinal experts, Midway? Foaks?...

There were no right hand wind reels made in the original Swedish made non-skirted spool green or tan ABU or Zebco fulcrum brake 3, 4, 6 & 7 Cardinals. The black Japanese made skirted spool fulcrum brake 3, 4 & 5 Cardinals have a reversible handle. The black rear drag ABU/Ambassadeur Cardinal 52, 54, 55 & 57 also have a reversible handle. The black rear drag ABU/Ambassadeur Cardinal 152, 154, 155 & 157 were also only left hand wind.
