Title: Old Rod(no Markings)
Post by: jgp12000 on March 14, 2020, 07:15:20 PM
I was given this old rod from "Maxed Out" that had no markings on it.I cleaned it with a 3M pad and windex.I applied polyurethane to the cork.I assume it was a homemade rod and I have no idea the age.I may put one of my Mitchell 300s on it and see what happens

A close-up photo of the ferrule, some guides and the reel seat might help.  What makes you think it's homemade?

ditto...  that's a mighty fuzzy, zoomed-out photo

might have seen a couple w/ that general look

maybe, Montague...   maybe, early Japanese thin-wall glass

like Steve said, " ferrule, some guides and the reel seat" might all be recognizable in clear close-up's

also, threadwork -- those blurs look vaguely 60's Japanese-y to me

Also, can you see the fiberglass weave through a slightly translucent surface, or is the surface a solid color as though it had been pigmented or painted?
