Title: visx crank arms
Post by: gstours on October 27, 2021, 02:41:47 PM
If like to know more about the Visx 12 and 16 crank arms.   I'm assuming that they are anodized and to me that means aluminum.   I'd like to know before I try to modify (lengthen). one for a friend.
Usually the brass ones are chromed.    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and or info.
Also is anyone aware of any replacement arms or blanks tapped for the 2 speed shift parts?
   Thanks again.

i've drilled out a few.  they are anodized aluminum.  the shorter arm #24-16visx for the  12/16 visx will fit on all of the visx reels.  the longer #24-50VIS arm will also fit on all of the VISX reel.  looking at mystic parts.com, it looks like the longer handle arm blank is temporarily unavailable, which means that it might become available later.

otherwise, you would have to purchase the entire handle assembly.

gary, you might consider a better grip on the shorter arm before trying to lengthening the arm.  i have grips available!

Alan,  thanks for the information,  just wondered,  🤔.  Glad that all the cranking arms are interchangeable.
